Paulo Goes Named New Editor-in-Chief for MIS Quarterly
MIS Quarterly is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal in the field of MIS. Published by the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management, it is the oldest journal in MIS and widely considered the most influential journal in the field. Its editorial focus is on the enhancement and communication of knowledge concerning the development of IT-based services, the management of IT resources, and the use, impact, and economics of IT with managerial, organizational, and societal implications.
Goes is the Nancy and Peter Salter Distinguished Professor of Management and Technology at the Eller College. He has a B.S. in civil engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil, and an M.S. in production engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Rochester and was on the faculty of the University of Connecticut for a number of years before he joined the University of Arizona.
Goes is currently serving as a senior editor for Decision Sciences Journal and has served as a senior or associate editor for a number of journals, including Information Systems Research, Management Science, and Journal of Management Information Systems, as well as acting as a guest associate and senior editor for special issues in MIS Quarterly. His research interests are in the areas of design and evaluation of IT-enabled business models, business intelligence and analytics, innovation exploration, e-commerce and online auctions, database technology and systems, and technology infrastructure.
Goes will assume the editorship of MIS Quarterly in January 2013.
