Mr. Craig Stender, Consultant
Craig Stender has over 15 years of experience in the Information Technology arena. He currently is a consultant working on an e-Government project for the Motor Vehicle Division and a project to implement the Help America Vote Act for the State of Arizona.
Craig Stender served as the Director of the Government Information Technology Agency (GITA) and State Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the State of Arizona, and was a member of the Governor Hull.s cabinet.
Prior to GITA, Stender was CIO for the Arizona Department of Transportation. As ADOT CIO, Stender served on numerous external committees at the international, federal, state and local levels.
Stender was responsible for ADOT projects including Service Arizona, Y2K, related legislation, and mainframe computer consolidation. He managed an IT budget in excess of $30 million; directed IT purchasing, inventory, and procurement activities.
Stender holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a major in information systems at the University of Arizona and a Master of Business Administration degree from Arizona State University.
