Mr. Ron Schott, Executive Emeritus, Arizona Technology Council
Prior to joining the Technology Council, Ron completed two exciting careers in Corporate America. The first at IBM were he held senior management positions in Development and Sales. The second at America On Line (AOL) as Director of IT and Development. He retired from America Online, Inc. in 2003. While at AOL, he was Director of IT for AOL’s Member Services Group. He established a Development Center in Tucson, AZ responsible for Application Development, Knowledge Management Systems, MIS Systems, Web Development, Quality Assurance, Performance & Stress Testing that supported all of the AOL and outsourced and off-shored centers with over 6,000 agents. Responsibilities spanned Data and Voice infrastructures, systems and applications.
The Voice Infrastructure allowed AOL Member Services to run all their call centers and outsourced centers as one virtual call center. Elements included 800# control and allocation, IVR’s, pre-call routing, CTI, ACD’s, Call Recording and Monitoring, CRM and linkages to AOL’s back end Data Systems. Call Centers both domestic and International used VoIP technology and deployed Speech Recognition technology.
Prior to joining AOL, Ron held Sr. Management positions at IBM which spanned Operating Systems Development, Laboratory Technical & Management experiences covering many technologies, industries and disciplines. Ron was also responsible for Technical Sales at IBM with major IBM customers in AZ and the Southwest Region.
In addition to serving on our MIS Board of Advisors, Ron serves on the Industry Advisory Council at the University of Arizona in the College of Engineering. Ron also serves on the Board of the Arizona Telecommunications Information Council (ATIC). He has been an Arizona resident for over 17 years. He enjoys using the skills and experiences he has acquired to help Arizona Technology Council Member Companies. He is also President of Car-Ron Ventures, LLC. and offers business and technology consulting to clients.
