SUIT Showdown Case Competition

Open to: SUIT Showdown registrants only

The department is proud to announce that it will host the 3rd annual Strategic Use of Information Technology (SUIT) Showdown in Tucson on March 29-30, 2012. We are expecting nine teams of students from around the country.

The SUIT Showdown is an annual event for graduate students enrolled in information systems programs. Participants interact with students from other universities in a competitive environment that allows them to showcase their skills.

SUIT began in 2010 through a collaborative effort between Dr.s Sue Brown (Eller MIS Associate Professor and McCoy-Rogers Fellow), Ramesh Venkataraman, Indiana University and 'Jon Jasperson, Texas A&M University.

This competition is not just another case competition. Rather, the competition requires students to apply both their technical knowledge as well as their business acumen to solve a business case. The business case selected for the competition focuses on issues related to the strategic use of information technology in companies (i.e., acquisition, management, implementation, etc.)

Students who participate in the SUIT Showdown will:

• Acquire valuable experience presenting their ideas and demonstrating their skills in a business-IT case competition
• Expand their network by meeting competitors from other top universities
• Meet experienced practitioners from companies who will judge the competition
• Enjoy a break away from the rigors of their course work
