Partnering Opportunities : Grants or Contracts

MIS Research GrantsA research grant or contract is comparable to a contract or grant we sign with an industry partner or organizations such as the National Science Foundation or the Department of Homeland Security.

Project work is completed by a MIS PhD student, an MIS faculty member, or a combination of the two. Projects often spread over several years and have been in the range of $100K to $1 million dollars.

We develop the scope of the project, discuss the deliverables, establish the resource requirements, and follow The Universities Sponsor Projects guidelines to get the total expense.

Lawyers from both sides agree on intellectual property rights, licensing, etc. Once both parties are satisfied, the project begins. All the work is specific to the firm and is not viewed as a gift but basically deemed contract work.

Benefits of supporting research grants or contracts:

  • Potential ideas pursued to help you do feasibility studies, reduce risk in exploration of new technology and/or help your firm improve its performance through increased productivity and innovation
  • Non-disclosure agreement (NDA) signed

Have a grant or contract you would like to partner with us on?
