LaSalle-Chen Scholarship - Spring 2012 Scholarship Awardees
Congratulations to the following students who received the LaSalle-Chen Scholarship in Spring 2012.
Tamyia L. Benavidez, 2013, MIS/OM
Interests/Activities: Eller's 50 Collegiate Women of the Year (2011), Wellgates Scholar Program, Multicultural Academic Excellence Award, (2012), Volunteer at Primavera Men's Shelter, Bethany House Women's and Children's Center and The Rillito Center.
Comment: "I would like to thank you for choosing me as the recipient of the LaSalle-Chen Scholarship. The funds will be used to pay for a portion of my summer school to obtain my goal of graduating in May 2013 with a double major in Management Information Systems and Operations Management. After graduation, I plan on working in the healthcare industry with the hopes of developing a networking system to help doctors more easily communicate the needs of their patients amongst each other."

Comment: "I am grateful to be a recipient of LaSalle-Chen Scholarship. Since joining the MIS program, I have heard about Dr. LaSalle and Dr. Chen and the renowned research they have contributed to academia, defining the department. It is a great honor for me to receive this award. I plan to use the scholarship to help fund my Master’s program in MIS. However, more important than the fund from the scholarship is the encouragement and trust of friends and teachers in being chosen a recipient of this prestigious award. I will try my hardest to live up to such expectations. "

Hua-Ching (Jane) Wang, 2013, MIS/Computer Science/Instrumental Studies
Interests/Activities: Treasurer, Management Information Systems Association (MISA), Member of Women in Computer Science, UA's Piano Studio, Eller College Philanthropy 8, Preceptor Team (Data Structures and Algorithms Class and Computers and Internetworked Society Class) Intern Pima Summer Youth Program - Economic Development and Tourism Department. First Place Business Communication Case Competition (2011), Excellence in Leadership and Service Certificate and Dean's List.
Comment: "Thank you for your support in providing this wonderful scholarship that helps my education in Management Information Systems and Operational Management in the Eller College of Management. I am looking forward to continuing building on my education while being more involved with extracurricular activities and helping others gain knowledge in the technology field. I am very honored to be this year’s recipient after the competitive selection process. Thank you again for providing the LaSalle-Chen Scholarship to support my academic goals."
